User license analysis - installations vs. licenses |
|
The User License Analysis report that ships with ENT Server 1.3 and later can be used to generate a simple comparison between the number of user licenses that you hold for each product and the number of installations of that product that were discovered on the network. This report will only include, in its totals, licenses which are flagged as user licenses and will only include installations which are not covered by one of the other license types (Site, Proprietary or Freeware).
In addition to this we have created the User License Analysis by Location report. In addition to presenting grand totals of owned vs. installed for each product (as is done in the User License Analysis report), the report shows a break down of how many licenses are installed at each managed site (location) in your organization.
Finally, we provide the User License Analysis by Location (separate budgets) report. This report presumes that each managed site has a separate budget and so, for each site, lists the number of licenses specifically associated with that site followed by the number of installations of the software product at that site and, finally, a recommendation as to whether you are over or under licensed for that particular site.
