Software licenses for specific users

Similar to OEM licenses which are licensed to a particular machine, some software products may be licensed to particular users in the company. If that user leaves the company and another user is hired, the license cannot be transferred from one user to the next.

This kind of licensing scheme is fairly uncommon for business software. Maybe when purchasing software, some companies give you the option of licensing it to an individual or a company – but if it was for business use then invariably it will make sense to license it to the company and not to a particular individual.

As such, we haven’t provided any specific support for this kind of licensing.

This would seem an unlikely licensing system for business software but, if we’re wrong about this, and you have various products which, for one reason or another, are licensed to particular users (not particular machines) then let us know and we’ll be happy to help you put a report together for this.
