Proprietary license analysis - a FYI report

As the title of this section of the white paper indicates, the Proprietary License Summary report is more provided For Your Information than anything. This report simply lists any products that are covered by proprietary licenses (i.e. for which you have recorded Proprietary License software assets in your inventory) along with any notes about these and a summary of any installations of these products at each of the sites that you manage.

Whether this report will be of any use to you or not will probably depend on the nature of the proprietary license agreement under which the software was purchased or provided. None the less, for those who want it, this report is there and if nothing else this may serve as the basis for more extensive reports that enable you to better report on the status of software covered by proprietary arrangements.

As we mentioned earlier, ENT Server itself is an example of a product that is covered by such a proprietary license. However, ENT Server comes with the tools you need to manage the licenses that you hold for this product built in – which will no doubt often be the case for other products which are licensed in proprietary ways.
