Objectives

Whilst Enterprise Server (ENT Server) can be used in a number of ways to help your IT Department manage the equipment and software in your organization, this particular document deals primarily with IT Asset Detection (or network auditing). In this document we describe some of the basic principals and requirements of any network auditing solution and we cover asset detection using Enterprise Server to:

-	Build an accurate picture of all of the IT Assets that you currently manage (auditing/data acquisition) and

-	Put in place a system to help you detect and track faults and changes relating to those assets (network management and monitoring).
