A disconnected machine is any machine that is not connected to the network and, consequently, a machine that you cannot audit remotely.
Since you cannot communicate with such machines over the network, in order to audit disconnected machines you will obviously have to run a piece of software on the machine itself. For this purpose, we created a small program called EntAudit.exe, which you will find in the directory where you installed ENT NetCenter. EntAudit.exe will easily fit on a 3.5" floppy disk, and can be run either from the windows Command Prompt or by double clicking on EntAudit.exe from within Windows Explorer.
Once EntAudit.exe has finished auditing a machine, rather than posting the results of the machine audit directly to your Inventory, EntAudit.exe will save the results of the audit to an audit snapshot file. This file can be saved to a floppy disk, or emailed, and posted to your Inventory at a later date from a machine that does have access to your network, using ENT NetCenter.
