The core functionality for ENT Calendar is provided by Microforge.net Enterprise
Server (ENT Server). Typically, you would install one ENT Server
that multiple users could access using Internet Explorer, ENT NetCenter and ENT
Report Forge.
The ENT Calendar module on your ENT Server is accessible using both Internet Explorer and ENT Net Center (our windows client). ENT Calendar users can use either of these clients to manage appointments, share contacts and collaborate on tasks and projects. Performance
ENT Calendar was designed to be usable in an internet environment. All communication
between ENT NetCenter and the ENT Calendar module on your ENT Server, is performed
using the ubiquitous HTTP protocol, so helpdesk
technicians can access your ENT Helpdesk even over slower
WAN or Internet connections where firewalls and routers may exist. Collaborative Work Environment
You can define custom groups for your ENT Server and specify which users are members of which groups. The users in those groups can then share contacts, tasks and projects with one another and see any calendar items that other team members have shared with them. ENT Calendar users can specify full or read-only access for the items that they share with other users and the calendar presents each user with their own personal view of all their private calendar items as well as any items that have been shared with them. ENT Server automatically adjusts reminders for tasks and appointments according to the timezone that each user is in, so you can host your ENT Server on a server anywhere you like, it doesn't have to be in the same timezone or even in the same country as the users that access this and collaborate with one another. ENT Calendar users can access your ENT Server and collaborate with other users anywhere in the world. |
